At HYJOIN, we make corporates and Mittelstand (SME) your customers, not your employer. Your mission
This is not a narrow specialist role. As Junior Chief of Staff, you work directly alongside the founding team and act as their right hand: bridging strategy, business development, and day-to-day execution. You see the whole company, jump into whatever matters most, and turn ambiguity into momentum. One week you're modelling a business case, the next you're preparing a board meeting, scouting a partner, or building a tool that the team will use every day. It's the ideal role for a curious, hands-on generalist who wants to learn how a deep-tech startup is built from the inside, with real ownership and unusual proximity to the people steering the company.
Your responsibilities
Strategy & Chief of Staff
- Work side by side with the Managing Director on the priorities that move the company forward.
- Prepare strategy papers, growth concepts, board and investor materials.
- Drive cross-functional projects end to end - from first idea to follow-through.
- Keep the leadership team focused: structure decisions, track topics, close loops.
Business Development
- Identify and qualify leads, manage CRM, and help shape the sales pipeline.
- Scout potential partners and customers, and prepare the materials that win the meeting.
- Conduct industry, competitor, and trend research that informs real decisions.
- Build business cases, ROI calculations, and pricing logic together with the team.
Hands-On Building
- Analyse manufacturing processes and cost structures to sharpen our value proposition.
- Help develop internal tools - including AI-supported workflows - for lead qualification and beyond.
- Support product and service concept development.
- Create crisp presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
What we are looking for
- A generalist mindset: you'd rather own five different things than perfect one.
- Enrolled student (min. 4th semester) or recent graduate in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Egineering, Business Administration, or similar.
- First experience in Excel modelling and ideally CRM tools.
- Strong structure, ownership, and a bias for action — comfortable in ambiguity.
- Genuine interest in technology, innovation, and how businesses are built.
- Bonus: experience creating or applying AI agents.
- Fluent in English; German a plus.

As Senior Design Engineer, you will be at the heart of turning our technology into real-world solutions — leading machine development, design of machines and plat systems, supporting customers, and contributing to our growth as an early founding team member.
Your responsibilities
- Design and further develop new and existing hyJOIN® machine systems, modules, and assemblies for thermal direct joining and laser remote surface structuring
- Create detailed designs for automated plant systems, machines, components, tooling, and mechanical interfaces in accordance with machine safety and CE compliance
- Conceptualize, evaluate, test, and implement mechanical solutions integrating mechanics, electronics, pneumatics, and automation components
- Develop and design fixtures, tooling, and customized handling solutions for automated manufacturing systems
- Integrate laser sources, scanners, optics, precision mechanical structures, sensors, and machine-vision elements into machine platforms
- Perform mechanical and thermal calculations, measurements, tests, and performance evaluations
- Drive Design-to-Cost initiatives for cost-optiomized machine layouts, configuratioons, component specifications and sourcing
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation (specifications, interface definitions, BOMs, drawings, offers)
- Feasibility assessments of technical customer requests, requirement evaluation, and project guidance
- Coordinate development activities with suppliers and partners; review and approve drawings, parts, and deliveries
- Provide hands-on support for assembly, commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization of prototypes and machines
What we are looking for
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Precision Engineering, or equivalent
- Min. 7 years of experience in mechanical design of special-purpose machinery and automated plant design
- Excellent CAD skills (preferably Autodesk Inventor or equivalent)
- Experience with thermal systems, induction generator design, heating devices, press tools, or laser machinery is a plus
- Strong knowledge of machine safety and CE compliance, including risk assessments
- (EN ISO 12100), safety control systems (ISO 13849 / IEC 62061), and safe mechanical design principles for industrial production equipment
- High level of ownership, hands-on mentality, structured working style
- Resilience, initiative, and willingness to travel occasionally
