Everyone here are mostly on a little summer break, but too excited about this one to stay quiet.

On 30 September, our CEO & Founder @Jakob Wäschenbach and Lead Engineer @Dr.-Ing. Jan Krollmann are speaking at @Composites United's Webseminar Wednesday about: Thermal Direct Joining of Metal–Thermoplastic Hybrid Structures.

The joint between metal and fiber-reinforced thermoplastic is where hybrid design usually gets hard. We'll show how our own technology hyJOIN®, bonds the thermoplastic directly to a pre-treated metal surface under heat and pressure, no adhesives, no fasteners, separable again, and recyclable by material type.

We'll get into the process fundamentals, cycle times under five seconds, and the full chain from part idea to series production, including the conditions under which industrialization in six months is realistic. And, with the experience of real customer projects, we'll talk openly about what accelerates a project, where the typical hurdles sit, and what it takes to reach reliable series maturity.

3 questions come up in almost every project we work on!
 
Behind every reliable metal-plastic joint sits a controlled electromagnetic and thermal process.

Before hyJOIN® runs in series production, the physics has to be understood in detail, and that understanding starts in simulation. 
 
These are the three questions:

1. We analyse the strength and distribution of the magnetic field, with and without a flux concentrator, and across different inductor positions. The field shapes where and how energy enters the metal, so mapping it precisely is where control begins.

2. We simulate the temperature distribution in the metal joining part throughout the process. Knowing exactly how the part heats up and cools down lets us match the thermal cycle to the material, no guesswork, no over-processing.

3. Small changes in setup, or tolerances in the inductor and flux concentrator, shift both the magnetic field and the resulting heat. We quantify those effects so the process stays robust when it moves from the lab to the production line.

Together these analyses turn a joining concept into a repeatable industrial process.
